Summary
Janie knows she can trust Reeve with her secret. Even though he is away at college, she can still share anything with him and feel safe. Reeve doesn't mean to bring it up. He just desperately needs a topic to save his first night as a talk-show host at WSCK, the Hills College radio station. He starts to talk about Janie's secret, the story about how his girlfriend, the cute redhead next door who was crazy about her parents, saw the picture of a missing girl on a milk carton one day at lunch and realized it was she. He gets his audience. The lines are jammed with listeners calling in to ask for more about Janie. Now all he needs to do is switch subjects. But you can't start a story without finishing it, not if you want to hold your audience. You have to keep talking, to tell it all, no matter who might get hurt. "What now?" Reeve asked himself. Yes, Reeve--what now? A powerful, thought-provoking finale to Cooney's Face on the Milk Carton trilogy.
